Currently, one of the hottest trends in the stick category is mono-material chubby pansticks for lip and cheek formulations or multi-functional skincare formulations for face and body. ICONS|ICS specializes in designing and tooling custom packaging and this past year we partnered with several clients to design one-of-a-kind, custom chubby pansticks. The sticks were designed with form, function and aesthetics in mind, using recyclable mono-material designs, ultra-smooth mechanisms and minimal yet eye-catching silhouettes.  

Sticks can be customized with a variety of finishes to suit your brand vision – matte, soft-touch, metallization, anodization and heat transfer foil. But we are also seeing an increase in sustainability-driven decorating decisions with many brands opting to work with us to design custom packaging with embossed or debossed logos or in-mold matte designs which eliminates additional deco processes and enhances recyclability. 

Versatility is the name of the game when it comes to stick packaging since they can be used for almost any type of formulation, be it lip balm, lipstick, cheek stick, concealer, and many more body and skin care formulations.  

The stick fill method (top or back fill) and cup/spline configuration are key to finding the perfect marriage of formulation and pack. This not only ensures bullet retention but also ensures smooth application without the bullet breaking. For formulations that require hot pour filling, the packaging must be compatible with the high temperature requirements and our variety of mono PP stick packaging can be an ideal option.
